SS stuff

It took me a long time to realize this, but the nasal sound of Brett Manning's cry is not actually a nasal sound, but a twanging of the epiglottis funnel. Learning the difference between making a nasal sound and the twanging sound has helped me in my practicing - I kept wondering what I was doing wrong and why I kept breaking sometimes, and I think this is why. There is much posted on these boards about twanging, particularly by CunoDante, so reading lots of posts (musiclife's thread is a really swell one) on this board should help.

Twang

The epiglottis funnel is the pharynx area in the back of your throat.
Again, there is already much written on this subject in the forums and I don't feel I have the knowledge to elaborate further than has already been done.
You can see a diagram of it in one of the pages of the "guided tour of CVT" at sadolin.net/uk/sangteknik...ik_01.html
