Yes.....remember what i told you then on the live journal comments? It was "Somehting in my is searching....for a different answer."
A question - as an obsession - can come out of self doubt, inscurity and fear. I think that what can help train this inner teacher is... STAYING with the quesiton as you vocalize. maybe. Staying with it and WITHOUT seekig answer..maybe then a quite awareness comes and you SEE the answer. (or feel, here - refering strictly to singing). This is just a though i have. |

Good podcast! Everyone should listen to this. While I don't agree with some of your points, everything singing related is excellent. Singers here need to
be independent, they need to be experimenting on their own; once they have found the independence and bravery to start doing things on your own, then they will
begin to grow. How determined are you to become excellent at your craft? That's where it all goes back to.

What you said about researching on your own was very true, I'll be honest, I didn't do much research about that breathing subject on this forum, I just posted my question hoping for an answer. But now I understand that if you want to learn something, you have to first look for it, if you cannot find anything then look for an answer from someone more knowledgeable than you by asking questions. And it is so true about the 'Inner Teacher' thing. If your own body is telling you to something then it is probably right, I know we have to experiment ourselves more than running to teachers all the time. Trial and error is the best way of learning. Thanks for that podcast. |

What we don't want to do however is keep answering the same broad or general questions; those types of questions have been answered numerous times, and honestly, all one needs to answer a question like this would be to look at a post, and then experiment. You can answer a lot of questions by yourself just be listening to yourself, listening to your body, and just being aware! I believe the entire point of this podcast was this: Develop some independence so that you can learn for yourself. Jake

I can already see that you are very conscious. You have recognized a something in yourself and have stood up and admitted it. You are also being open to receiving a message that seems to resonate with your experience. That is great news man. You are very welcome. Keep the questions coming. |
