Re: Past certain notes, cords stop abducting
Yes, I can make it "whistly" around F5 (I haven't tried the E5, but I will), and when I really just want to sing out (full-out), I don't have the "whistly" sound until about F6. I do it by maximizing my chest and approaching it correctly. If I mess one little thing up, I end up with the "air flow" that you have.
Timberlake and Maroon5 approach falsetto almost like I do. My wife tells me that I can imitate them better than most other groups (and some Country, which I'm best with). Timberlake either uses a chest, or a falsetto. OR on the higher notes (above high C), it feels to me he constricts SLIGHTLY. It's a controlled level of constriction, to get the sound he wants. That's how I hear it. Maroon5 doesn't do that. Then again, I'm not sure they sing above the E5.
