Hey All,

How are you all? Anything new? I've been keeping up with the posts, but I've been very busy since school (I'm at GMU now) started again, so I haven't been posting a lot. I'm working full time and taking 9 credits right now. My schedule isn't bad though: I go to class Monday nights & Tuesday nights, and then I have an online class. I have to drive an hour to get to the campus though, lol; those drives should be a good time to master my mix.

Yes, he really is, at least I think so!

And especially at 1:38 when he starts to sing "But it's been no bed of roses..." and then he ends up with a beautiful D5 at 1:53 !

I don't know anything about his technique, I guess he's really talented thats all. But it is singers like him that encourages me to keep...

Thought I'd take a moment and introduce myself as I'm new on this board (new to Singing Success too - but not singing in general). I sing in a praise band and after singing with a really great vocalist decided to take the plunge and take voice lessons. I'm a 2nd bass (in case you want to know my range) (think of a slightly smaller version of Armond Morales from "The Imperials") and have practicing Singing Success for 7 days (took me 4 just to get the lip roll!

Scales for Basses?

I'm a bass and it's very frustrating that SS scales start DURING my break. It is nearly impossible to get the proper feel of the connection when you have to worry about getting even a little chest into the exercise. Does anyone know where I can find the scales but starting earlier on the keyboard or if anyone knows how to lower the exercises without distortion? Thanks

Hey everyone,

I heard about a vocal teacher named Fred Carama from this person I met online. He is actually a true old style classical Bel Canto teacher, I didn't believe it until I saw that he teaches in the same academy as Marilyn Horne who is an opera singer that has been taught from the old Bel Canto technique, same as Caruso.

Anyway, this guy Fred Carama has taught many top opera singers. I listened to one of his students who sang Nessun Dorma, his name is Bruce...

Doing crunches and singing?

Hi ppl,

I have done some crunches recently and it started to hurt my neck and throat muscles.

I wanted to know if crunches are good for singers or if a person relies on their throat and neck muscles to be relaxed when vocalizing or singing?

If not do u guys know any other exercises that help with abdominals without tensing the neck and throat?

Maybe there are some alternatives?
What I don't like about Aucacity.. Where to get started.

It lacks an ability to overrecord (record on top) from a desired point.
Projects with a lot of vocal try tracks start lagging - it shouldn't load every single muted track into memory, slowing everything down...
It always introduces a delay and doesn't have a delay-compensation. After all the vocal tries are done, you have to move the instrumental 100ms forward.. And...
